The final test is usually written in the penultimate week of the course classes. The whole test takes between 60 to 90 minutes and consists of two kinds of questions. The close questions, requiring a short, one-to-three sentence answers are designed to test your overall knowledge of the history of the English painting, artists, their works, styles and iconography of their paintings. The other set of questions are more of an open-ended nature. They require a description of one or more paintings, involving a combination of theoretical knowledge and your own personal interpretation.
